A sign from the past
The Palmer's have been gone for 60 years but Rick uncovered a reminder of their ownership when he took down a few boards in the summer kitchen. Written in charcoal he found the initials of the Palmer's. Can't read them all but Louise and Mabel and Will are probably represented by the scrawled letters and the name "Palmer" is clear beneath the initials.
