Driveway widening project
Seems like there is always a new project starting up at The 1888 Palmer Farm. The driveway has been a pain in the neck since the days of the Palmer family (according to former owner Virginia Loveless). So it was time to address it head on. There were multiple dead or dying trees very close to the drive so they came down first. Then overgrown shrubs and brush needed to be removed. It was hard to see some old bushes go but there will be new plantings to come. The house was fairly invisible from the road but no longer!
Jimmy Leahey, Digger and Michael Leahey hauled away the big logs and the brush ended up in my burn pile. Michael Leahey, Jimmy's son, brought in load after load of fill for the driveway and it is now a pleasure to drive up to the house. No more scratched cars and trucks. No more giant ruts to contend with. Place gets more civilized every day.
